Daddy will be running through mud to raise money for my ABR therapy! Please support him.

Past Events

Europa Worldwide

On Friday 25th January 2013, Mummy, Nanny, Gabbie and I had the pleasure of meeting the directors and employees of Europa Worldwide Logistics (http://www.europa-worldwide.com/). Every two years, they organise and run a charity fun day and donate the proceeds to worthy causes. This year, Support Sasha was one of those causes and Europa handed me a cheque for an astonishing £1000. This is a huge step towards the £15,000 we want to raise for an electric wheelchair. Thank you so much to Europa, and thank you to Patsy Downey for putting Support Sasha forward.

Summer Fayre

The Support Sasha summer fair was held on 9th June and was a fantastic day. We raised £1100. Huge thanks to all those who attended, made cakes, ran stalls and donated prizes. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Bring and Buy Sale

On 31st January, Gr-Auntie Wendy’s friend Lorraine Daniels organised a bring and buy sale at her house. Those who attended bought some lovely donated items while enjoying snacks and drinks. The evening raised £161. Thank you very much to all those who came along, and to everyone who so kindly gave the ‘buy’ items – particularly the original owner of the sparkly Tiffany’s bracelet which Mummy is now happily wearing!

Capita Registrars’ Charity Event

Run Froggy Run!

On Sunday 10th of September Guillaume Buat-Menard, Daddy’s friend from work, ran the Bristol half marathon in an amazing one hour and 53 minutes. He raised over £600 for Support Sasha. Thank you Guillaume, we are so grateful for your efforts.

Hayes Farm Boot Sale

On Sunday 31st July, Nanny, Grandad, Gr-Auntie Wendy and Gr-Uncle Steve started the day almost as early as me and went to Hayes Farm to set up the Support Sasha boot sale stall. Thanks to donations after the clearing of my Great-Grandad’s house and from many other people, we almost filled two vans with our stock (thanks to Pete for the loan of his Transit for the day!) By the time I arrived with Mummy, Daddy, Auntie Chloe and Uncle Luke things were well under way. We sold a huge amount of the items we had taken with us and also received some very kind donations from boot salers. This meant that in total we made an incredible £276.

Thank you to everyone who donated items or came along to help on the stall or just support. Particular thanks to Nanny, Gr-Auntie Wendy and Gr-Uncle Steve who spent their whole day working hard. And the biggest thanks to my wonderful Grandad, who worked flat out before the boot sale collecting items, packing and unpacking the vans, and organising, and who was also there all day on Sunday, refusing to leave until the bitter end!

Capita Dress Down Day

A big thanks to Capita Local Government Services who raised £152.55 to Support Sasha. They had a dress down day onFriday 1st July when staff in two of their offices had the opportunity to wear casual clothes and donate  £1.00 or more to Sasha’s fund. Particular thanks to Emma Roze for suggesting Support Sasha as the beneficiary for this event.

Fashion House

The Support Sasha Fashion House on Friday 17th June was a huge success. The lucky ladies who attended spent a lovely evening browsing the latest fashions from La Belle Boutique in West Wickham, kindly provided by Lucie Ford; enjoying a pampering beauty treatment with Sally Osborne; sampling delicious cupcakes courtesy of Lara’s Lovely Buns (laraslovelybuns@gmail.com); purchasing Phoenix greetings cards and wrap, sold by Jen Grimes; and winning some outstanding raffle prizes.

It’s me on a cupcake!

The event was organised and co-ordinated by Katie Osborne, who put in a huge amount of time and effort which certainly paid off – it was a fantastic and truly enjoyable evening. It was hosted at The Cottage, thanks to Sally and John Osborne. Sally donated all profits made from the beauty treatments to Support Sasha, and Lara did the same with the sales of the cupcakes. Jen and Lucie also kindly contributed from the sales made by Phoenix Cards and La Belle. John and Greg Osborne did their fair share of the work, and did an admirable job of waiting on all of the ladies present. We are so grateful to everyone who worked so hard to make the evening successful and enjoyable.

The raffle had some wonderful prizes, all of which were donated. For these we thank Sarah Roberts hair design, Clarks West Wickham, Ghost hair salon, Matthews the Jewellers, Avery Interiors West Wickham, Michael Osborne and the Disney Company, Nicola Fleming with Sienna X, Co-Operative Funeral Directors, Ian Lewington Music, M&S Flowers and others. Thanks also to Emu, who donated a pair of size 6 boots for a silent auction. Lucie spent a great deal of time speaking to other shops in West Wickham to arrange many of these prizes.
